Download previous version of apple configurator

I myself have a new MacBook Pro running Mojave at home. I can download Configurator on this machine just fine. Trying the download on my retina MacBook Pro which is still running High Sierra results in the aforementioned error message.

Anybody else experienced this and knows of a way to get the latest compatible release of Configurator for High Sierra machines? Then, on that user's computer running I just did this to get Configurator 2.

I've never tried with Configurator, but it sounds like it isn't giving the normal behavior of offering to let you download the older compatible version? That is what I've always seen with Server. I also have an older Mac Pro 1. I'll try tonight to see if I'm provided with an older installer using it's App Store.
